y.e.s. provides a confidential, non-judgemental and informal service for young people between the ages of 11 and 25 within Colchester and Tendring, who are facing difficulties in their lives.
If you are facing homelessness and need housing advice, if you are having family problems, if you are feeling low, depressed or suicidal, if you need advice about debts or would like to check you are claiming all the benefits you are entitled to, if you are teenager and are pregnant, if you are a young family who needs support, or if you need a CV, training or work advice, then y.e.s. can help you.
y.e.s. can provide help and support with many problems that you may be experiencing – and if we can’t help you ourselves then we will find someone who can, and will support you in getting that help.

Vacancy – Eating Disorder Therapist/Counsellor
YES is seeking a part time therapist / counsellor to join our busy team. You will provide a community-based service dedicated to the support and treatment of people with problem eating and their carers’ in an accepting and safe environment where people can explore their difficulties with eating and body image. Looking at the predisposing, precipitating and perpetuating factors of an individual’s eating disorder and provide treatment shaped around the clients’ experiences.
The aim of the service is to enable service users to understand themselves and their issues with food, develop ways towards healthier self-maintenance and to ultimately become more empowered during and after treatment.
Applicants must be:
• Qualified Counsellor/Psychotherapist with a minimum three years’ experience
• Must be experienced in working with people who are affected by eating disorders and / or experienced mental health difficulties.
• Able to map and direct the running of a therapeutic / supportive plan around the client to enable the parent/carer to provide effective support
• Outreach service so car owner/driver essential
• 25 hours per week
